Nevada-Sierra County Amateur Radio Emergecy Services. N1OES.

The purpose of Nevada-Sierra County ARES is to provide emergency communications for agencies within the counties when normal communications fail, or as a communications supplement when needed.

We also provide communications to many special events within our counties.

ARES Net via Packet Radio

For packet radio operators that wish to check in to our Thurday evening ARES net, you can check-in by connecting to the GVCITY BBS on either
145.050 or 145.090.

Send a private message to KG6BAJ with subject of
'NET CHECK-IN'

Check-ins accepted 12 hours in advance of the net.

Local Scanner Traffic

Now you can listen to local area scanner traffic.

You will need WINAMP installed to listen.

You will hear local police, fire, and EMS from the west side of Nevada County.
